Commissioner’s Summit for Principals

The Commissioner’s Summit for Principals is an annual event hosted by the Florida Department of Education and supported by the Florida Education Foundation and the Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA). During the event, the Principal Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership and the Outstanding Assistant Principal Achievement Award are presented to honor exemplary individuals who spearhead initiatives to increase student performance, promote safe learning environments and establish partnerships with parents and community members. State finalists are chosen from district nominees by a statewide selection committee, and an overall winner is selected for each category.

The 2008 Summit was held at the Tampa Airport Marriott in Tampa, Florida, on October 20, and included events sponsored by the Office Depot Foundation and the Helios Education Foundation.
