Alvin Davis' exhibits surprise when named 2012 Teacher of the Year

The Florida Education Foundation has long been a supporter and partner of the Macy's Florida Teacher of the Year Round Table.  We are pleased to announce the 2012 Teacher of the Year-- Alvin Davis, Music Education Teacher of Miramar HIgh School in  Broward District. He will serve as the Christa McAuliffe Ambassador for Education for the upcoming school year.  

Alvin was one of 5 finalists selected from 72 school district nominees.  The other finalists included  9ththrough 12thGrade Literacy Coach Lora McCalister-Cruel of A. Crawford Mosley High School in Bay County;  Pre-Kindergarten Exceptional Student Education Teacher Belinda Nease of Southside Elementary School in Nassau County; 10ththrough 12thGrade Math Teacher Stephanie Thetford of Fort Walton Beach High School in Okaloosa County and 5thGrade Science and Writing Teacher Tracy Staley of Ponce de Leon Elementary School in Pinellas County.
