The Summer Institute is an annual conference that brings together 1200 educators to focus on accelerating learning and increasing student achievement. Districts send representatives to experience professional learning that supports effective implementation of the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) English Language Arts (ELA) Standards. During this three-day event, attendees experience hands-on workshops, interact with peers across the state, and learn from professional educators and inspirational speakers.
The goals of the Summer Institute include:

• Selecting and implementing evidence-based literacy practices and programs grounded in the science of reading.
• Providing turn-key resources to support effective implementation of Florida’s B.E.S.T. ELA standards.
• Improving outcomes for all students.
